Print a 2x2 passport photo on a 4x6 photo
The forms ask for “one photo, 2x2 inches in size”, printed on photo paper. An ordinary 4x6 photo print holds two of them, and the sheet from this checker is laid out for that.

What is on the sheet
- 1800 x 1200 pixels: 6 x 4 inches at 300 pixels per inch.
- Two copies of your photo, each 600 x 600 pixels, which is 2 x 2 inches.
- Gray cut marks outside the corners of each photo, never over the photo.
- A black bar 300 pixels long. On a correct print it measures 1 inch.
Ordering the print
- Download the sheet (a JPEG file) and order one 4x6 print at a store photo counter, a photo kiosk or a print website, or print it at home on 4x6 photo paper.
- If the order offers borders, fit or crop options, choose no border and no cropping. The sheet already has the 4x6 shape (3:2), so nothing needs to be cut off.
- Use photo paper. The forms say “Printed on matte or glossy photo quality paper”.
Check the print, then cut
- Measure the black bar with a ruler. It should be 1 inch. If it is not, the print was scaled: print it again with no border and no cropping.
- Cut along the gray marks with a paper cutter or sharp scissors. Each photo should measure 2 x 2 inches.
- On each photo the head measures about 1 3/16 inches from chin to top of hair, inside the rule of “1-1 3/8 inches”.
- The forms ask for one photo. Keep the second as a spare.
